I tuned in this morning and "Bright Yellow Gun" was playing. While over the course of several hours I heard "Fish", "Garoux des Larmes" (which I didn't know referred to werewolves) and "Your Ghost". There was also the first part of a documentary about the origins of "Alt Rock" in 80's America, in which "Lizzie Sage" was played.(should be available on iplayer for next seven days) The interview with, Kristin, was good,(she was as warm and engaging as one would expect) though I wish the chaps had dwelt a little more on the "Anthology" and upcoming tour. That's a minor gripe though. It was around the 4ad 25th birthday stuff, played as a "power trio" with backing on cello and violin (maybe the McCarricks? I'm not sure). I wish I'd recorded the interview as well, but alas... (If anyone else has the interview or a better version of this recording, I'd love to hear them.) When you are up against the big boys trying to get anybody to give you a hearing is virtually impossible. Of course, the beautiful renditions of Your Ghost and White Bikini Sand did a lot to convince me, but that interview was a key moment in me discovering Kristin. Gideon's fantastic - he's introduced me to so much great music.
