10-4 Questions

    Hi B & K,

First, I received the 5cd 10-4-All yesterday and it is absolutely amazing - without doubt the coolest thing I own. Whoever came up with this idea is a genius! Thank you.

(If anyone reading doesn't already own 10-4-All, buy it if you can - possibly the best $70 you'll ever spend.)

Now the questions - there are many..... sorry!

Will there be any more 10-4 All CDs made available at the Throwing Music store, or are the 5 CDs all of the recordings? If there are more, is there a complete list of songs that have been (or will be) recorded?

Are you ever likely to make 10-4 You available again? If so is there a waiting list we can go on?

If you do make it available again, is there any chance of adding some 50FootWave songs to the list?

Last one I promise... would it be possible to make the PDF of the 200 songs available again? I just wanna see which songs I could have chosen from if I hadn't missed it but the link seems to be broken....

    I'll stop asking questions now...

    GN.

Not to presume to speak for them, but given the enormous strain put on Kristin from the "10-4 You"s, I wouldn't expect them to be back, at least not anytime in the next couple years. She is still trying to work on the last batch (I don't think she is at the halfway point even?) in between all the other stuff she has to do, and it's safe to say that there's no way that it was worth it for them money-wise.

This isn't quite the same, but I know most people made their 10-4 You available for download to others. I think K&B gave this their blessing. You might be able to get more tracks you want this way, even though it isn't really "for you."

That's about the size of it...thanks TurboC. Hey, by the way, Kristin recorded yours tonight(!)

This project weighs heavily on Kristin -- she thinks about it all the time. But she is making progress, slow and incremental progress, but progress nonetheless. There have been positives to come out of it too. She now knows WAY more of her songs than she ever has before.

It's uncanny though. In every single order, there is at least one song that makes it so she has to stop everything, go away, learn and practice. Really. Uncanny.

Thanks guys. I kinda figured that would be the case. It's a very cool idea, but I can see how draining it must be.

And really, my main aim was to find out if any more of the songs would be made available for purchase - like when Kristin does get to the end of the project, will there be another 10-4-All...?

@TurboC - assuming it is okay (is it Billy?), any idea how I would go about asking people to make their available for download?

People used to post links to them on TMO. TMO forum is gone but I think the appropriate place to ask would be the wild vanilla forum, which has replaced the non-official-forum part of TMO:

    http://wildvanilla.ning.com/forum

Maybe you could make a thread asking for links or maybe specific requests, or lists of what exists thus far in the 10-4 You catalog. And oh, and if you download any, I think you're supposed to tip in K's tip jar, "The Hat" on the left side of the main page (main page HERE that is... yeah it's getting confusing.)

Edit: Haha, she recorded mine TONIGHT? That's ridiculous, since I was on here talking about them. Tell her thanks for me!! My birthday was 18 days ago, so that's pretty cool too, heh. I'll try to defend my mailbox against mail thieves for the next few weeks. :)

@TurboC - Thanks for the info. I'll head over to WildVanilla. Tipping "The Hat" is no problem - I'm quite happy to pay for anything I download.

I also became a Strange Angel today - shoulda done that a long time ago....

Sorry for double-posting, but just had to ask a couple questions about my 10-4 if that's ok:

    - What did Kristin think of the track order of my 10-4 (if anything), mainly the opening 3 (Velvet Days, Teeth, Gazebo Tree) and ending 3 (Me And My Charms, Whole Heap Of Little Horses, Sundrops) ?
    - What was her mood like, and what was the weather like outside? :D

OK, that is all. :) Thanks a million! I'm excited!!!

    Hi Billy.

Sorry to bother you, but have you guys changed your e-mail addresses by any chance? I only ask because I've sent you and the online store a couple of e-mails about my 10-4-U, but I've had no reply. Thought it might be better going straight to the board.

My only concern is that I've changed my address since ordering my 10-4-U last year, and I'm just worried that it's going to be sent to the wrong place. I don't care if it takes five years to turn up or whatever. There's absolutely no rush whatsoever. It's just that I no longer live at the address on the invoice.

Here's the order number. I can e-mail with the new address:

    Order Number: 800176
    Detailed Invoice: https://www.throwingmusic.com/catalog/account_history_info.php?order_id=800176

p.s. That 'Gin' is really awesome, and I love it a lot.

Hey J-Mitch, are you referring to the message you sent back in August about your new address? I forwarded it off to Billy then and replied to you about that, I wonder why you didn't get that... if you have moved again since then, well, then you'll have to email orders at throwingmusic dot com again....

Thanks, Tine! For some reason I didn't get that e-mail.

No, no, I haven't moved since August, so everything should be alright. It's still Castlefield, Manchester.

    Thanks again for the reply.

    Hi
How near are the individual 10-4's to being completed? Paranoia prompts the question as I think K indicated she hoped to have them all finished by the end of October.
    Thanks

Ugh. She's still plugging away at them...we were hoping for the end of the year...but now...well, we're still hoping.

Ow. It hurts just to think about it.

If it's any consolation, before we mail out an order, we contact every person to ensure that they're still at the same address (!!) Yes, that's how long it's been.

    As I said. Ow.

    Love to all,

    B + K

Thanks Billy. I really didn't like raising the issue as K will obviously do them when she is able; it was just paranoia that the order could have been 'lost'.
    Best wishes to you.

Thanks for the update, Billy. I'm actually really glad to hear about the address-check since I got worried that mine would head to Oregon and whoever lives in my old house would be rocking out to my CD, and that would just add another thing to the list of things that suck about living in Wisconsin!

After saving money for it for a couple of months, I finally ordered the 5cd 10-4-all. I received it yesterday and it is fantastic, I love it. It was worth eating 2 weeks macaroni and cheese. And just in time for the holidays!

Billy, what are the chances of getting the rest of the 10-4-All sessions K recorded? From her old 10-4 blog it she made it sound like she recorded more songs that didn't make it onto those CDs and it'd be cool to hear 'em, since it seems unlikely K will ever do another round of the personalized 10-4's (though if she does, sign me up, lol.)
