  1. Kristin,

If you are in the Los Angeles area, my friend has a bookstore in Uptown Whittier that is in need of some foot traffic. It's a huge store (it used to be the community theatre) in the middle of the business district. With Amazon.com and the advent of penny books (plus shipping), the large independent retailers are disappearing like the dinosaurs. I pitched the Shady Circle idea to him and he agreed to give you the floor whenever you want to come down. Anytime you want. For the last Harry Potter event there were more than 250 people milling about with room to spare. There's even a kid's section for Bodhi to peruse (with supervision, of course) while you play.

My thought was that if your journals take book form, I'd like to extend an invitation to you to have a signing here...maybe perform accoustically in a kind of Shady Circle format. Or any kind of promotion you so desire.

Whittier is about 25 miles south of L.A. so your fans would be able to make the roadie from the city and the hipper locales. It's a college town (think of Mayberry, but with Quakers) with Whittier College just a few blocks away. It's directly across from Lovell's Records, which is a thriving indy record store that has been around since 1969, and Tom, the owner, is a friend who can put up fliers and other promotional stuff.

So, the invitation is out there. If you need a place to congregate, the floor is yours. Just let me know.
