    Hi Billy and Kristin

Hope you don't mind you mentioning this here, but I've heard this morning that the BBC 6music digital radio station is to be cut :(

The decision has be be upheld by the BBC trust, so any forum readers who wish to show support for a station which plays Kristin's music, and that of artists like her, can email the BBC trust: trust.enquiries@bbc.co.uk

Anyone from outside the UK who wants to listen before it goes can do so here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/

    Thank you for your time.

I'm well cranked by the news. They are big supporters of K and other great acts. Apparently though the head of the trust has said there is the possibility of a U-turn if there is massive public concern at closing 6music, so it's quite important if anyone that's bothered is counted by signing the online petition or joining the Facebook group. There's also a dedicated email address at the BBC relating to the review at srconsultation@bbc.co.uk

Is Kristin aware of this? Perhaps a tweet from her would add a little more weight and perhaps get her a bit of press too!

Not meaning to harp on about this, but I just wanted to point out for those not familiar with the issues that the closure isn't proposed because the station is performing badly, quite the opposite. They've increased listeners significantly every year without major marketing and despite being digital only and have won numerous awards for the different shows. The closure is a reaction to a trust report which suggests the BBC needs to contract a little and focus its efforts, which makes it all the more aggravating seeing as the station really does represent quality over quantity.

David Bowie and Lily Allen are amongst stars who've added their support.

Amusingly, the link below has a little bar chart which shows Kristin's records are played twice as much on BBC 6music as any other BBC station!

Weirdness, I clicked the link above just now and it told me Kristin got played on 6music today! Your Ghost got a spin by Steve Lamacq.

Yes, that would be sad to lose. However, since we (most of what some people call the "west" I guess) gave all of our money to the banks, we will see massive cuts to the public sphere over the next few years.

I thought you meant you'd be at Latitude this month - I didn't realise you meant the Radio station! Let us know when you're there, I don't want to miss it!

Billy, I e-mailed Lauren Lavern about a week ago informing her that K was touring the UK shortly and asking her to get K on her show.

What show are you on? You must let us know.

It'd be good to know what show she's on, so I can do the "listen again" on the BBC website if I happen to be at work during transmission (they get very finicky about playing any sort of Internet radio!)

Be nice if it was Lauren Laverne though!

I sent Lauren a tweet when she played a Muses track a few weeks back asking if the station could interview K and B. I hope it's Lauren or Steve Lamacq :)

Looks like it's going to be Nemone on Friday :) I'll be at Latitude, if it's not downloadable from 6music, will it be on this site or the Cash site?

    Thanks!

    Nemone is good.
How can I wangle it so I am not in the office on Monday afternoon?? A site visit sounds plausible

The Radio 6 i-Player usually has stuff like this on for a week or two afterwards, For you not in the UK, Radio 6 is also available on line...here...

Even if Kristin is not on it is well worth a listen.

You can listen to it here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00t1tfs/Nemone_16_07_2010/ (Or at least you could a little while ago, now it says the programme is currently unavailable.) If I remember correctly, the part with Kristin starts about an hour and a half in. It was a lovely interview, I really enjoyed it.
