    Hello everyone.

'El Tejado del Diablo' is Spanish for 'Devil's Roof'.I know you'll think it's too bad this website's in Spanish but well, it's just something that I started doing for my own pleasure and I have finally decided to share in a blog specially dedicated to Throwing Muses and Kristin Hersh.

In 2004 I started translating a lot of interviews I had (from magazines, websites, radio broadcasts...) with the idea of making a document that I could enjoy which told the story of the band and of Kristin's solo career chronologically, and in their own words, taking all quotes from different eras that talked about one specific subject (a record, or the beginnings of the band, or the break-up, anything) and put them in order to tell the story as it happened. I felt the urge to do that cause i always found Kristin's interviews to be so funny and so interesting.

I worked on it intermittently during five years, finishing it last year (stopping with interviews from 2007, right before CASH, and having a 120-page Word document) and I don't know why I didn't have the idea before to create a pretty blog where I could share it with everyone. I've had a big surprise with the enthusiastic reaction I've got from people, even though I guess there aren't a lot of Spanish speaking fans in the community... but I've known of a few thanks to the blog.

I'm illustrating the story with pictures, magazine scans and embeded audio files that I've compilated over the years, I'm trying to credit everyone I know but there are some pictures of which I don't know the author, or the website where I found them at, or hte person that scanned some articles and shared them a while ago... so if anyone is bothered by their use just let me know and I'll credit the source right away or cease to use it.

I wanted Kristin and Billy to know about the existence of a project like this, I'm enjoying it a lot and I think it's important that it's out there.

I hope you enjoy it as well even if you only visit it out of curiosity.

  2. hi everyone

i just wanted to let you know that this fascinating two-months adventure has reached to an end. today i posted the last update which is about the beginning of CASH Music in 2007, the year when i finished translating. during the weekend i will post the list of articles and interviews that i used and that will be it by now. i know many of you visited even though it was in Spanish (i've checked myself and well, Google translator really sucks) and i thank you as i thank everyone that said to me how cool that project was.

i hope Billy and Kristin can check it sometime.

  3. Silverfrown,
I missed your initial post and am just learning about this now. What an incredible amount of time and energy you've put into this! And it is a wonderful idea, and the blog looks absolutely amazing. Seriously, I'm very impressed by this. I'm really quite disappointed that I can't read it. Anyway, good work! I will most definitely post a link to this on my site.

  4. Hi, I added a link to your blog on my site like I said I would (www.hersh-head.com). I like to have thumbnail pictures to click on for all of the links, so I just used a picture of Kristin because there isn't really a main photo on your blog. If you have a different picture you would like me to use instead, please email it to me: laura-elise[at]lycos[dot]com

  5. thank you Laura, i really appreciate it :) the picture you chose is beautiful, no need to change it!

i know, it's a pity that the project is in Spanish because there's no other site that compiles this lot of information in their own words and chronologically in English, but on the other hand i think it's the first website in Spanish dedicated to Kristin's work so that's important too. i'm so glad that you liked it!

  6. In a way the Spanish language "in their own words"ography is appropriate (to me) because the Throwing Muses/Kristin Hersh seem to "speak" a completely different musical language. And it's a good reason for me to learn to read Spanish. Thanks for creating the site and talking about it here!
