  1. This has nothing to do with music, but I figured this is the most direct venue to communicate with Kristin. If you need to replace your glasses, try http://www.zennioptical.com. I have purchased cheap, yet stylish and functioning glasses for a little over $20 (with shipping), and Rachel recently bought her glasses the same way. Just FYI, and I figure other people should know about this, too, as "normal" glasses tend to cost way too much. No, this isn't an ad, this is Jim.

  2. Thanks Jim -- We're really grateful!

  3. That reminds me... about 10 years ago, maybe, I had broken the hinge on my glasses. I was unemployed so I didn't have insurance, and it worked fine with a safety pin and some masking tape. I went in for a pre-interview at a placement agency. We talked about my skills and what I was looking for, and then the woman asked me if I could get my glasses fixed before she sent me on the actual interview. I had completely forgotten they were busted. I joked that it just screamed "geek," which was appropriate since it was for a Unix systems admin job... but I got some super glue and a new screw for the hinge. Then I got vision coverage.

-karen, who is unemployed again, as of yesterday, and cannot tell you how overjoyed she is about it (no, I'm not being sarcastic)
