  1. For 5 days this week, KEXP will be airing excerpts from Rat Girl, read by Kristin -- followed by an acoustic song.

  3. KEXP can be amazing. The program director, Kevin Cole, is one of the (increasingly rare, sadly) radio people that goes for quality over flavor of the month. And the guy just champions deserving artists.

    KEXP has gotten a lot bigger in the past few years, and the financial stakes are - as you'd expect - much higher due to that, as they have to find creative ways to stay financially healthy. But judging by Kevin's show, this hasn't affected his philosophy at all on what gets played.

    Pretty gutsy.
