  1. Hi All-

Was wondering if anybody would like to meet-up before the show at the Rubin tomorrow. I'm a long-time KH/TM fan new to NYC having lived in San Francisco for a number of years. Would love to meet east coast fans.

    cheers,
    Aaron (aka dangerboy)

  2. i'll probably be getting there right around showtime so before hand might be a bit hard for me to pull off but there is a restaurant/bar on the ground floor (the performance space is in the basement) that we can certainly hang out in afterward -- or head out to some local bar or whatever -- if folks want to chat and say hello.

do we know who all is going? roll call?

  3. Here

  4. I have to work this afternoon so I probably won't be able to get there much before the show anyways. I like the idea of hanging out afterwards. I'll be wearing a Micky Mouse t-shirt if anyone wants to say "hey". :)

  5. What did you guys think of the show?

  6. I liked it!

  7. That's it, Paul?!? "I liked it"??? Geez, remind me NOT to have you interviewed for Kristin's obituary.

  8. i liked it a lot! ;)

  9. Ha, ok sorry! Let me try again:

    I loved it!!

Seriously, I do have a hard time putting something like one of Kristin's performances into words. During a live performance I sort of "zone out" and don't really experience the show in a way that translates to words. I'm an enjoyer of performance, not a reviewer :) I will say that I was a little worried about the unamplified aspect of the Rubin show--only in case her voice would have a hard time competing with the guitar. But this was an unfounded concern. Her singing voice is very strong as we all know.

The venue and audience were perfect because the venue was serene and beautiful and the audience was respectful and to a person was there to enjoy the performance and not to drink alcohol (the venue losing its liquor license assisted in this part!) or to have conversations. Plus I love a seated venue which keeps a tall person from standing in front of me.

  10. Ahh...now that's better. Good boy, Paul.

Seriously though? You made me well-up. Unnecessary and as sweet as pie.

  11. I loved it, too...hearing wasn't an issue even though I think I'm going deaf from too
many loud shows over the years.
I could listen to Kristin read from her book for hours...that was a real treat in addition to the music.
