Loch Lomond? I wonder if they are named after this Loch Lomond: http://maps.google.com/?ll=37.113925,-122.064457&spn=0.107458,0.168228&t=h&z=13&vpsrc=0
Some interesting new releases here
A quick google reveals that Loch Lomond the band are from Portland Oregon so who knows where they got their name from. However, if we're playing water-body poker, I see your wee American reservoir and raise you a majestic Scottish loch...
I see your loch, and raise you the Pacific Ocean. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=pacific+ocean&hl=en&sll=56.111368,-4.62886&sspn=0.601092,1.345825&vpsrc=0&hnear=Pacific+Ocean&t=h&z=2
We've kind of lost the Loch Lomond theme, but well... I fold.

I love this filing system. Does anyone remember Andy's Music? A small chain of independent record shops mainly in towns in East Anglia (UK). They went bust a few years ago, but they used the same approach - David Bowie was filed under "D" instead of "B"!

Nice to see Holly Golightly in there - we don't see her much in the UK any more... Has anyone mentioned Johnny Dowd?
An alphabetic compilation of this list would be useful, but I'm not volunteering!
Yeah sorry about the confusion but I've just been posting them as I get them. And yes Holly Golightly is really good. Maybe if it was possible to edit previous posts I would consider doing it.
At some point, when I get a free hour I'll do it for you. I groom alot of data at work.
I'm still slogging away at a spreadsheet I've been doing with it all on, but I don't get much free time to spend on it - I'm up to page 9 at the moment.
I must add Gina Birch (who I had the pleasure of seeing last saturday, with Viv Albertine and Helen McCookeryBook)
also her band The Hangovers.
and Martin Stephenson - as in the Daintees - (who MC'd above gig) - A really wonderful man.
Just to add to the confusion, I have some more new stuff

Yeah Strangel! Mark Lanegan Band - Blues Funeral!
I am so into this record I went back and am cranking all of the old Screaming Trees albums too! They were one amazing band! Everyone kind of overlooked them in hindsight. Really enjoying this trip!
Rock on!
I don't know if anyone here was aware that Dead Can Dance are releasing a new album and touring this year.
she makes war +1
just heard 'in this boat'. loved it.
kinda reminded me of someone else...
Time for an update perhaps? What has 2012 brought us? Well how about these?
The Wedding Present - Valentina. A stunning return.
Jack White - Blunderbuss. No surprises, but delivered with his usual panache, and his guitar playing is visceral.
Blood Red Shoes - In Time To Voices. Third album is a litle more err thoughtful? Absolutely incendiary live.
The Men - Open your Heart. New grunge protagonists? Actually Sex Pistol, Mudhoney, MBV, Sonic Youth, Husker Du, and a healthy dose of rawk are all here.
Orbital - Wonky. What can I say, long overdue and does not disappoint.
Dirty Three - Toward The Low Sun. It's been a while but again, we are rewarded for our patience.
School of Seven Bells - Ghostory. Excellent, following the direction of Disconnect from Desire.
I must mention Mark Lanegan. Or I may get shot :)
not a bad start to the year, and I am over excited about these, soon to be released....
Metric - Synthetica. out in June. Touring too. Almost flawless band.
Rush - Clockwork Angels. Yeah I know, but they rock.
Future of the Left - The Plot Against Common Sense. Ex McClusky front person Andy Falkous back with more scything wit and Big Black strength brutal rock. Thank you god.
Finally a few things, not new but new to me.
Those Dancing Girls, Swedish "blue eyed pop" in the best sense.
Girl In A Coma. Cool as.
Novella, next gen UK indie groove.
& Spector; Toy; Jezabels; Slow Club; 2:54 I could go...
deep breath...... and relax.
