  1. Sorry this is off-topic but couldn't think of anywhere else to post it. Besides, since so many of us love K's folk song interpretations, I thought there are those of you out there who might appreciate some traditional Welsh folk music as performed by the lovely Cerys Matthews.

Her new album 'Tir' (trans.: 'Land') consists entirely of Welsh folk songs dating back 80-150 years. Sung mainly in Welsh and arranged, by Cerys, with minimal accompaniment, sometimes just her wonderfully sweet voice, it's definitely something you guys should check out.

I'm English myself, but even I was singing "Bread of Heaven..." a la the Millennium Stadium on home international days...

A shameless plug, I know, but hey, you'll thank me for it...

  2. The tracklisting is a complete nostalgia fest for us Welsh natives. Great stuff.
If anyone is a fan, it might of interest that Cerys recorded a Welsh language version of her last album Don't Look Down (Welsh translation: Paid Edrych I Lawr) which is well worth a listen (and was partially recorded in Providence, Rhode Island - very tenuous link).
But this probably isn't really the place to plug other artists. Just head to Cerys' website for more.

  3. I love Cerys Matthews. I actually got into her music after Tanya mentioned in a couple of interviews (Belly era) that she really liked Catatonia.
