  1. I'm liking the new CASH track, it's a slightly spooky, mellow way to end the Speedbath album.
Speaking of CASH, is it just me or does the lead guitar riff in Fortune remind anybody else of Metallica?

  2. I love "Rubidoux"! Some of the CASH tracks took quite a while to click with me, but this is love at first sight. Or first listen, actually.

  3. Another awesome track. Congratulations to Kristin, Billy and everyone at CASH on the final upload for Speedbath. It's been a great year.

  4. Maybe it's the cool, dry, breezy sunshine I get to stare at from my desk at work, but this dang song is making me cry happiness! Maybe the story behind the song helped a little, too. It sounds stupid to thank someone for doing what they can't seem to help doing even if they tried, but thank you Kristin!

  5. As it stands now, Speedbath is a beautiful, poingnant statement. I think I like it better than LTSLAS, and I like that very much. This last track sounds and feels amazing, and it really seals the deal for me. Sorta reminds me of Gazebo Tree if that makes any sense. I am looking forward to what happens from here.

    Thank you (so far).

    Yay! 50' Wave in November!

  6. Don't know if it's cause we know that it's the last track of the year, but "Rubidoux" sounds like a natural closing song for the album. It's been one of the few ones with which i connected more quickly (the same that happened with "Torque", "Mississippi Kite" or "Krait" -songs where you recognize something familiar that can really touch your nervous system like nothing else can).

  7. Another great track!

Though, I still like Fortune best of the last half of the songs.

  8. Oh. My.

    This is perfect. Perfect. PERFECT.

It kind of corresponds to Static in a way. At least in the way I'm thinking of it. Only the hope at the end of this song is more...hopeful.

(I promise that made total sense to me...)

  9. It is kind of like Static.

I love the little hand bells and that backward-guitar sounding part.

That's exactly what I thought when I was listening to it! It's a great closer, and I think it could work as the album opener as well.

yes! the music has like an optimist quality and freshness that would work as an opener too, for the album or for a live set, i can see that.

  12. i glanced at this thread before listed and saw everyone thinking album closer, but my first thought was album opener--and i see, now that i read the thread more closely, others did as well. yay!

on first listen, i thought the intro, before the vocals start, was a bit long and monotonous, but the first words, "the freeway," turned the repeated guitar figure into the lane striping on a expressway. i'm not a lyrics guy so i hadn't listened closely to the rest of the lyrics but, having finally read the post on cashmusic.org, i guess it's totally a road song. so, let's hear it for music that conveys the message!

  13. i'm waiting for this to grow on me. static still my favorite...with krait and slippershell close behind..
