I still wish that kristin would have commercial success... i still don't understand why this is not happening... or maybe i do....kristins solo albums are good...throwing muses latest album is good...50 foot wave albums/eps are good.

Good in the sense that i could play it for friends and they will say: "sounds good, but not astonishing"...And i agree.... Kristin only becomes astonishing when you merge these three together. They balance each other in a very sophisticated way I think.

Therefore i wish that a future throwing muses album would merge all three of these ingredients. Therefore i wish that a future throwing muses album would include opiates and slippershell…..And with Milan sounding like another “Your ghost”, another Throwing muses album could become a mini massive commercial success.

A more appropriate topic would perhaps have been the problem with "kristin Hersh" ...Hope the topic didn't offend anyone

I think I understand what you mean. But I think the problem lies with the music industry and the masses of people who prefer fluffed up crap music rather than anything with substance.

What I would love to see is a full band touring 'Crooked'. Dunno if such a thing would be feasible... it would involve enlisting the services of a second guitarist for starters. But, oh boy, those songs could tear the place up in a live arrangement!

Tinghog, I give you credit for speaking up. And I'm surprised there wasn't more backlash.
People around her can be pretty ruthless, even the "powers that be".

But with that said, I agree. I kinda feel things are a little too far spread. And although we're not in K's head, clearly these things need to come out and be shared and I give her great credit to handle it all and make it all happen, that's a true artist. And they're all good projects in their own right.
But it would be good to have/hear that thing that brought us all together, really f'ing great Muses records.
So I too feel that if all the elements of all three projects came together in one Muses record, it would probably be pretty amazing.

It's been on my mind for a long time and I'm glad someone had the balls to bring it up.

Let's see what the future brings. K's been through a lot lately and obviously working her ass off so here's hoping we'll all be pleasantly surprised.

I fully appreciate where these sentiments are coming from.
The frustration that Kristin is criminally ignored haunts me but its also true to say not everybody came to Kristin via TM.
Many members here discovered her through Hips & Makers or even later albums such as Sunny Border Blue.
For every UK fan who first heard the debut there are americans who started with House Tornado and still prefer it.
I love TM 2003 & all the FFW ep's but there are many who think the Grotto is her best work.
I think this is one of the dilemmas facing anyone as prolific as Kristin. Her different strands need outlets and Kristins solution is seperate entities for each.

The issue of persuading non believers is all the more difficult as these are not quick fixes in the way Lady Gaga or any of the other media friendly popettes are. The songs require repeated listening and a little effort on the listeners part.
Difficult to engage others in this way in a social situation. People may listen politely but will probably not be overwhelmed on first hearing.

This is no criticism as almost all the music that has stayed with me over the years is "difficult" to begin with, which is why it is so enduring.

The LTSLAS tour was full band, strings etc. The BIG show I believe Billy called it. Unfortunately it also nearly crippled B & K financially. Of course the positive side was it created the spark of an idea that became CASH music and look what a creative success that has proved to be.

Karma dictates that Kristin will be rewarded for her trials and I keep faith with that. This much talent deserves an audience at least, but not at any price.

Finally, Milan is one of the best songs K has written recently so if this is an indication of where the TM album is going I am too excited.
