  1. Can we get an update on the TM CASH Music project?

Is there at least page we can "watch"?

(And, by watch, I mean frantically reload every two hours until something shows up...)

  2. that's exactly what i feel like doing
    i wish i could :D

seriously, it would be great to have an update on this if it's possible

  3. I would bet it will be throwingmuses.cashmusic.org. But it's still early!

In Wellington, Kristin told me that she had written "about half a dozen songs" for Throwing Muses and that they would "try" to make a record this year. "I want the Muses record to be the next CASH project after Speedbath. Throwing Muses will probably have their own page, like 50 Foot Wave." But it will not necessarily be subscription-based. "Each band has approached the CASH tools in different ways."

I mentioned the "guitar that loved built" songs, and the fact that some fans (on wildvanilla.ning.com) thought that Palm sounded like a Throwing Muses song. Apparently that's also Kristin's opinion: "I'd really like to hear the band play Palm," she said.

(Lemon Tree, on the other hand, "is a Shady Circle song.")

  4. This from Kristin, today on Twitter may give us a clue to what is happening...

"in the studio today, recording the first CASH track o' the year"

  5. so i guess (excuse me if you all thought it was obvious) that they will be recordings with dave and bernie?

  6. K's new CASH-song-a-month will be released soon (maybe at the same time as a major CASH re-launch upcoming on Valentine's Day) and it may or may not be directly tied to the new Muses release.

What you can count on is a new song posted at CASH every month...beyond that, it gets a bit more murky.

There may be a dedicated Muses project yet to come, the band is certainly willing, but for now the plan is to get that new song up every month. Some of these songs will be Muses songs, some not. And either way the goal is to make a new Muses record this year.

It's a bit more expensive to make a Muses record, so we need to know we can afford it. Throwing Muses means plane tickets, rehearsals, more studio time and other expenses related to having more humans involved. If we get the subscriber base that allows for a larger project, we'll absolutely move on it.

Kristin's CASH project will guarantee new music, where that new music ultimately ends up, is yet to be determined.

  7. Would the upcoming CASH songs have anything to do with the project Tanya recently eluded to with Kristin? She mentioned there may be a soundtrack project. Is that tied to the Muses record or is there another "top secret" plan in the works? Kristin + Tanya = the ultimate awseomeness! Sorry for being nosey.

  8. thanks for the update, BillyO

just the fact that new material will be up again soon is exciting, nevermind on which project it will end up being.

You're supposed to be nosey, we're flattered when you're nosey, so never apologize for that!

But to answer your question, no, that's not likely. If K & T actually move forward on the score they're talking about doing (a lot depends on the filmmakers and other variables) it won't be until the summer -- and as it'd be contracted work for a feature film, it's very unlikely that the owners of the project would be willing to share the product ahead of the film's release. Y'know?

  10. Thanks for the update!

I, personally, don't care which Kristin is putting up songs on CASH, as long as one of them does!

As for expenses for new TM material, don't hesitate to post or email a nudge to all of us if we can help make it happen!
