Thank you to K for sharing what is clearly a very personal and heart wrenching memory of her friend with this forum.
We saw Vic Chestnut play in Brighton at the beginning of 2009. He accidentally whacked my husband in the ankles on his way to what passed as a stage. We didn't care, and Vic was on what I imagined to be excellent form - sadly the first and last time we got to saw him live.

'I'm Through/Pepe Lopez' is truly stunning...listened to it several times now. It's ironic that your comment to Vic that "...& this isn't ON anything?!", echoes the situation we as fans of all things K would be in if you weren't now reigning (& I mean that in the nicest way!) over a mini media empire where we get to hear/see the things that may never be "on anything". Thanks for posting this & so personal an essay & also 'Hungry'. The picture is beautiful too...
