This “two-fer” from alternative rock giants Throwing Muses includes 1988’s Fat Skier EP and full-length House Tornado on a single disc. The EP found the group moving in a “poppier” direction, a shift that continued on its major-label debut, House Tornado, but both releases dutifully rely on Kristin Hersh’s dark, surreal lyrics and punk-infused energy as their backbones.
