Who are we?
KristinHersh.com is a music website for Kristin Hersh and her projects: her books, writing, and music, including her solo work and her bands, Throwing Muses and 50FootWave.
KristinHersh.com is not targeted to children and is not intended to collect personal data from children under the age of 13.

What information do we collect?
When you sign up for our newsletter we collect your email address and address information if you choose to provide it.
When a user makes a purchase through our online store, we collect only the information necessary to complete this transaction and ship products (for physical product purchases). This includes name, address and phone number. Credit card transactions are processed by Authorize.net on their servers and is subject to their privacy policy. No payment or credit card information is stored on our servers.
Users choosing to subscribe under our Strange Angels subscription program do so via PayPal. All user data for that program is stored with PayPal and is subject to their privacy policy.
What cookies are used on our site?
This site uses cookies to collect statistical information about the usage of our website (like number of pages visited, or number of visitors per day) via Google Analytics. Cookies may also be used to personalize your experience while on our website and/or your login state. If you’ve logged in to use our online store, cookies are used to manage your login state. How do we use personal information?
If you’re on our mailing list, we use your email address to send newsletter updates on Kristin’s music. We typically only send newsletters out quarterly and when we have something to say. We won’t bother you more than that.
If you’ve purchased an item through our online store, your email address is used as your account to be able to log in and view your purchase status and history. Your physical address is used to mail any physical product you may have purchased. We will only email you about order status updates, e.g. to indicate when your order has shipped or if there’s any issue with your order.
If you’ve subscribed as a Strange Angel we will email you about special perks as associated with that subscription and updates about Kristin’s recording processes.
What legal basis do we have for processing your personal data?
When choosing to sign up for our mailing list, making a purchase through our store, or subscribing as a Strange Angel you consent to us using your email address to send you information relevant to those functions. Providing your mailing address is only required for physical product purchases and we will never direct mail you in any way aside from sending you your purchased products.
When do we share you personal data?
We never share any personal data with any third parties unless required to do so by law.
How do we store and process personal data?
The only time we store personal data is if you’ve made a purchase in our online store. We only store your name, address, phone and email address. No credit card information is ever stored.
Your email address is stored in Mailchimp if you’ve chosen to subscribe to our mailing list. Address information is not required for mailing list registration unless you choose to provide it. In that case, your address information is also stored at Mailchimp.
